Recently watched the TV show "Beef," and it was a gripping drama about two people living parallel lives in different circumstances. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong both gave outstanding performances, and the writing was effective and well paced. Both characters had been miserable for a long time, but their collision served as a catalyst for change. This series had it all, from romance to horror, comedy, and criminal aspects. The Asian American cast was excellent, and the writing, acting, cinematography, and staging were impressive. It explored the pressures of life, including the pressure from Asian culture to succeed and provide for parents, and as a one-time small business owner. The tempo was beautiful, and the characters and story were well structured. Although it was not a comedy, it had great messages, and the theme of the stresses of life in all forms is universal, especially in the US. There was some blood and brief nudity, but it was worth it for the intense emotional roller coaster. Overall, it's a great watch for any average adult looking for weird, insane, mind bending, and heart punching entertainment.
