With a screenplay by Sukumar and a direction by Karthik Varma Dandu, "Virupaksha" masterfully creates a universe of unsettling and frightening events in the village of Rudravanam. Samyuktha Menon and Sai Dharam Tej both give great performances in the movie. The film's technical elements, including the production design, cinematography, background score, editing, and sound design, support the audience's persistent interest and terror. The plot is obvious in some ways, but clever twists and avoiding tired clichés make it interesting. The beginning's poor romantic subplot might have been strengthened, but the supporting cast helps the movie as a whole. One of the better supernatural thrillers in contemporary Telugu cinema, "Virupaksha" is well-made.
