Vellaripattanam falls short of expectations. Despite having talented actors like Manju Warrier and Soubin Shahir, the movie fails to impress with its outdated and ultra-generic storyline, lazy script, and skit-like comedies that hardly evoke laughter. The direction by Mahesh Vettiyar is quite mediocre, leaving much to be desired. While the cakewalk roles of the lead actors do offer some respite, it is not enough to save the movie from being a disappointment
